Hydration
Your body is comprised of about 62% water; 16% protein; 16% fat; and 6% minerals, carbs, and other substances. Despite the attention that carbs, fat, and protein receive, water is the most important nutrient that your body requires. It is advised that men and women drink on average 3L (about 13 cups) and 2.2L (about 9 cups) respectively. Though, if your diet is higher in water-containing foods like fruits and vegetables, less needs to be drank. Water intake should be greater for those living in hotter climates or who engage in strenuous labor[4,5].
