Health is defined as (1):
“the condition of being sound in body, mind, or spirit.”
By this definition, it is apparent that optimal health is found when we nurture every component of our being.
Research has shown that we are spiritual, emotional, intellectual, and physical (2, 3, 4, 5). When one of these attributes become deficient, imbalance in our life arises. This can lead to financial struggle, physical disease, professional dissatisfaction, social isolation, depression, anxiety, and a whole host of other ailments. Therefore, to lead optimally healthy lives each dimension needs to be strong and work harmoniously with the others.
